Abstract
The author analyzes the problem of innovative development of the education system in the modern informational conditions. It is indicated that now there are actively taking place numerous innovative processes involving the education system. It is emphasized that innovations in education develop in two basic directions: on one hand, in the direction of increase of the educational process efficiency (quality), and, on the other, in the direction of quantitative increase of innovations connected with the usage of modern innovative educational technologies.
