Abstract
This article examines the contribution of Academician A.A. Trofimuk to the development of the country's oil and gas complex, as well as his call and commitment to the "fight" for Siberian oil. The article presents the authors' research findings on the "fight for Siberian oil": identification of oil and gas accumulation zones and substantiation of the sedimentary section's potential in northern regions, including the Arctic territories of Western Siberia; a forecast of the phase state and depth of possible hydrocarbon accumulations in deep horizons based on geological, geochemical, and geophysical data, using data on Paleozoic oil and gas complexes in the southern Kara Sea and the West Siberian Oil and Gas Basin onshore. A critical analysis of the problem of Paleozoic oil, including basement oil, is provided. The mechanism for the formation of fractured rocks and oil (gas) accumulations in basement formations is examined.
